Image of VoteVets statement about the deployment of National Guard in DC

DHS is a Menace

ICE jumping out of a rental truck to kidnap people at Home Depot

DHS appears to have morphed into a brutal, lawless gang of street thugs reminiscent of dictatorial shock troops in other autocratic regimes. Run by an unqualified and publicity-seeking secretary, egged on by the infamously anti-immigrant scare-mongers Stephen Miller and Tom Homan, and designed to impress a racist president who ran on the fear immigrants were “poisoning our blood,” DHS has become a disgrace, a human rights nightmare, and a legal scofflaw.

Helping people leave MAGA

MAGA hat on fire

People who voted for Trump are our family members, neighbors, coworkers, and community members. How to: Detect Bluetooth Trackers

Bluetooth trackers

Bluetooth location trackers such as AirTags, Tile, and Samsung SmartTags are marketed as a way to keep track of luggage or a misplaced wallet, but they can also be easily slipped surreptitiously into a bag or car, allowing stalkers and abusers unprecedented access to a person’s location without their knowledge.

Rick Scott Defends Congressional Stock Trades

Rick Scott

Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott was called out after he—a politician worth hundreds of millions of dollars—defended his position that members of Congress should be allowed to trade stocks despite clear conflict of interest concerns, saying it’s okay because he doesn’t “want to be poor.”

Due process and equal protection are in our Constitution and Bill of Rights and apply to every person, regardless of immigration status.

ACLU Florida

Florida is one of the most diverse states in our country. Our state is home to nearly five million immigrants who are our neighbors, co-workers, and the backbone of critical industries. Over a third of the state’s agricultural workers and nearly a quarter of its construction workers are immigrants. Instead of supporting practical pathways to integrate essential workers and their families, our Governor, Attorney General, and leaders in the legislature have aligned themselves with Trump’s xenophobic and nativist agenda. One that openly disregards principles of fairness, human dignity, and the rule of law.
