DESCRIPTION:Join Indivisibles from across Florida for a collaboration call about protecting the vote. We’ll be joined by two special guests\, Jessica Lowe-Minor\, President of Florida League of Women Voters\, and Mitch Emerson from No Partisan Maps. \n\n\n\nThe GOP is yet again doing their best to disrupt voting and it is the goal of your SWIFT Committee to keep you informed this year.  \n\n\n\nThe fight for redistricting is now beyond the Capitol. Hearings are being scheduled and there will be action in Tallahassee\, but that is not the only place to fight this battle. Action is needed in every district across the state\, and you can help! Mitch and Jessica will share the current state of the GOP’s efforts and tell us all how we can help right now in our own backyards.  \n\n\n\nIn addition\, Jessica will be sharing a new attack on voting rights in Florida. Do you remember the federally proposed (and failed) SAVE Act which required significant obstacles to registering to vote? Among other things\, it required Americans who have changed their name\, like married women\, to secure updated documentation to register to vote. FL republicans are now trying to do just that on the state level. Come learn about their efforts\, why they’re so bad\, and what you can do to stop them. You won’t want to miss this important update.  \n\n\n\nWe’ve got an evening of voter-supporting action for you. We hope to see you on January 27th!
