Florida ranks third in the number of confirmed measles cases across the country, new data published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show.
The CDC data, updated Friday, show 107 confirmed measles cases in Florida as of Feb. 26.
House Democrats have selected Rep. Gallop Franklin to lead their caucus into the next decade.

New documents provided to Unicorn Riot have revealed that the state of Florida gave at least $558 million to private contractors last year to work on two immigrant detention centers — including the notorious ‘Alligator Alcatraz.’ Some of these contractors have been directly linked to Republican Party lobbyists and billionaire businessmen who have donated heavily to Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ political campaigns.

In many states, parents can bless the marriage of their young daughters to old men against their will – Florida allows it at 16 years old. Various types of punishments are perfectly legal and many – including in Florida – would like to see more violent punishment of children in our public schools. Where do the rights of parents end and the rights of children begin?
The bill passed the committee, 16-4, with Democrats Edmonds and Kim Daniels joining the majority of Republicans in approving the measure. It now moves to its third and final committee before it could reach the House floor. A companion bill (SB 1632) sponsored by Sen. Erin Grall, R-Vero Beach, has two more committee stops before going to the full Senate for consideration.
New cases of measles are popping up across Florida, with 15 illnesses confirmed statewide, according to data from the Florida Department of Health.
But other cases, including 20 in Collier County and one in Pinellas County, don’t show up on the department’s website. It updates every Thursday, and by then the information is many days old. As of Monday, the case count ends Jan. 31.
